The Office of Institutional Effectiveness supports the University’s mission-centered initiatives through a  systematic and continuous process of data collection, evaluation, and assessment.

Resources

  1. Accreditation
  2. Academic Program Review and Assessment
  3. Institutional Surveys
    • Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey

The University of Mount Union is committed to actively promoting a diverse and inclusive environment that fosters mutual respect and positive engagement among our students, faculty, staff, administration, and community. To assess our current environment, a Diversity and Equity Campus Climate Survey was administered to the entire university community during the fall of 2022. The survey was administered by the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (HEDS) in cooperation with a coalition of university constituents working to evaluate and advance inclusive campuswide initiatives at Mount Union.

    • Entering Student Questionnaire

The Entering Student Questionnaire (ESQ) is administered to first-year full-time students at the beginning of the fall semester.  The survey is designed to help us learn the reasons the students chose the University of Mount Union and to better understand the expectations they have for their academic careers and overall university experience.

    • National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The NSSE is administered to first-year and senior undergraduate students to assess their engagement in programs and activities on campus.  The results provide information about how much time and effort students put into their curricular studies as well as other learning opportunities during their enrollment at Mount Union.  NSSE also provides comparison data from self-selected peer institutions to gauge how our students’ experiences trend with those in the comparison group.

  4. Compliance Oversight

The Office of Institutional Effectiveness oversees regulatory compliance through collaborative strategies with various administrative departments and, most centrally, with the Compliance Oversight Committee, which directs compliance planning, training, and policy development.
