I am currently teaching 8th grade math at Southeast Middle School in Portage County. I am also the high school dance line advisor and middle school cheerleading coach. I am pursuing the Master's in Educational Leadership degree in order to prepare myself for leadership opportunities that may arise in my school district.
Returning Alumni
I chose Mount Union for graduate school because of the amazing education I received as an undergraduate at Mount Union. The high quality of education I received as an undergrad led me to believe that I would continue to receive high quality education in the master’s program.
Mount Union Difference
Mount Union's program stood out from other graduate programs I considered because it’s offered fully online. Another aspect that set the program apart was 6-week courses rather than 15-week courses. This set up was convenient and accessible; I knew that even with my busy schedule, this degree was attainable.
Utilizing Leadership Skills
I have been able to implement the leadership skills that I have developed through the program by serving on the Building Leadership Team (BLT) at my school. I am also serving as a Lead Teacher for our district's Striving Readers Grant.
A Program For Professionals
I would recommend the Master’s in Educational Leadership program to a family member or friend because of the flexibility it offers. Earning this master’s is extremely doable, even for the busiest working professional.
