Why civil engineering?
When starting my academic career at the University of Mount Union, I didn't really have a plan for what I really wanted to do. However, my family is full of engineers, and I have a likeness towards mathematics. I learned about the importance of having multiple career options so I chose civil engineering. The civil engineering program at Mount Union prepared me for my career with hands-on opportunities allowing me to learn from field experts.

Life after Mount Union
As a student, I was able to obtain an internship with the Ohio Department of Transportation and Beaver Excavating Co. Upon graduation, my internship at Beaver Excavating transitioned to a full-time position. I currently assess daily unit costs and am getting introduced to how the bidding process works in the field.
