Mount Union Repertory Strings to Perform "Venetian Bridges" February 15

Bohdan SubchakALLIANCE, Ohio - The University of Mount Union’s  Repertory Strings Chamber Orchestra, area string teachers, and their students will present a “Venetian Bridges” concert on Thursday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Dewald Chapel on Mount Union’s campus. 

Featured string soloists include Bohdan Subchak, violin instructor at Mount Union, Mount Union alumni Maria Fesz ‘09 and Taylor Basnett ’17, Alliance City Schools Orchestra Director Crystal Sabik, and Cornel Zotta of the Suzuki Violin School of Canton. 

The group will perform two concerti by Antonio Vivaldi together with their students. Members of the University of Mount Union string faculty and harpsichordist Jennifer (Grant ’13) Linville  will perform Zefiro torna  by Monteverdi and a trio sonata by Legrenzi. The Repertory Strings Chamber Orchestra will also perform an antiphonal piece by Gabrieli, and Albinoni’s famous Adagio under the direction of Dr. Elaine Anderson, professor and chair of the Department of Music at Mount Union.
