Nursing Major Hunt Named 2023 Mount Union Outstanding Senior

ALLIANCE – The University of Mount Union is pleased to announce that Haley Hunt ’23, a nursing major of Kenton, Ohio, has been named its 2023 Outstanding Senior.

Hunt is a member of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity, American Sign Language Club, President of Cru Bible Studies, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Habitat for Humanity, Relay for Life, Roundnet Club, Vice President of Spiritual Life Leadership, Student Nursing Organization and Student Senate.

She has participated in both the Wilderness and Social Responsibility trips on multiple occasions including serving as a trip leader, Homecoming Royalty and has served as a Resident Assistant and Preview and Orientation Guide.

Other nominees included Alexandra Cox ’23, an English major of Alliance, Ohio; Ryan Meister ’23, a biomedical engineering major of Canton, Ohio; Josh Palmer ’23, a national security and intelligence analysis, German and international affairs and diplomacy triple major of Kent, Ohio; and Billy Parry ’23, a finance and management double major of Sugar Land, Texas. 

In selecting the Outstanding Senior, scholarship, citizenship and service to the University are taken into account. The award goes each year to the student who exemplifies the highest ideals in their relationship with other people and the University. The entire senior class was asked to nominate their top choices for Outstanding Senior, with a select group of faculty and staff asked to review the finalists and help select the winner.
