Political Science Professor Schortgen Selected as Strategic Advisor for COSMOS Global Network, Speaker at its 2020 Conference

SINGAPORE — Dr. Francis Schortgen, professor and chair of the Department of Political Science and International Studies, was recently tapped to be a speaker and strategic advisor at the COSMOS Global Network Conference, held virtually the final week in October.

Schortgen spoke on the panel titled, “Reducing Inequalities” where he discussed climate change and technological innovation as being two of the trends sustaining and exacerbating inequalities. 

COSMOS Global Network is a global social initiative founded in Singapore by social entrepreneur Pooja Shukla. It features advisors from across the world, and its 2020 conference hosted speakers from 27 countries. COSMOS also partners with the United Nations Association of the United States of America, the Africa Climate Transformation Foundation, the Youth Coalition for a New Nigeria and many other international advocacy organizations.
