National Security and Intelligence Analysis major

[When] the wrestling coach reached out to me I learned of the NSFIA & IA dual major program. No other school I was looking at had the NSFIA major so I thought it was interesting.

Education

B.A., National Security and Intelligence Analysis and International Affairs and Diplomacy

Hometown

Reading, PA

Career Goals

With my bachelor's degree in national security and intelligence analysis (NSIA) as well as international affairs (IA) I'd like to work in law enforcement. I intially wanted to choose criminal justice but I felt that I would have a better chance to get better job offers with the NSFIA degree rather than criminal justice.

Impactful Faculty Member

John Ross and Barbara Ringle. John Ross is an economics professor who has not only a lifetime of knowledge on the subjects he teaches but also is one of the most personable and giving person I've encountered. He made me want to minor in economics. Professor Ringle helped me prepare a briefing and report on the economic sanctions against Russia during the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Choosing Mount Union

[When] the wrestling coach reached out to me I learned about the NSFIA and IA dual major program. No other school I was looking at had the NSFIA major so I thought it was interesting. Leaving Reading, PA to live in Alliance, Ohio during my collegiate experience was tough. I moved away from all of my friends and started a new 'life,' but I couldn't have made a better choice-- the friends and family I've made along the way have made the journey worth it. [I was drawn to] the smaller class sizes and the professor-to-student relationships as well as the athletic team bonding.
