International Affairs and Diplomacy and Spanish double major

One piece of advice I'd give to high school students is to learn about the school's culture and try to meet with the faculty part of the major or program they're interested in.

Impactful Faculty Member

A faculty member that has impacted me the most is Dr. Grossman. His teaching style as well as his quirky personality in class has helped me learn about the world that we live in and has helped me gain knowledge in the field I want to pursue. His guidance and advice regarding what path is best for my career endeavors has allowed me to further optimize my experience at Mount as well.

Advice to Prospective Students

One piece of advice I'd give to high school students is to learn about the school's culture and try to meet with the faculty part of the major or program they're interested in. Although I was already a student here, Dr. Grossman allowed us to meet with UMU alumni who pursued the international affairs and diplomacy degree and who are successful professionals to allow us to ask questions and help us envision ourselves after graduation.

A Future in International Affairs

My ultimate career goal is to pursue a career in intelligence analysis preferably for the FBI or DEA. Mount is helping me prepare for this career by allowing me to develop the leadership skills and analytics knowledge that is necessary for the career. While I chose to major in international affairs and diplomacy to follow the footsteps of the majority of my relatives, I hope that my degree lets me have a 'cool' job as well as serve my country.
