Psychology major

UMU has expanded my horizon on so many things, and it’s made me realize how many possibilities I have in store. I chose psychology because I love learning about people and what makes them who they are.

Choosing Mount Union

My old swim coach swam at Mount. I chose to attend because I loved the campus, faculty, swim team and overall just the vibe! Everyone makes me feel so welcoming and loved. The faculty truly want the best for you. A faculty member who has impacted my academic career is Dr. Meyer. He has helped me schedule courses and learn about different career paths to explore options once I graduate.

Overcoming Obstacles

I’ve had difficulties in my high school swimming career with injuries and mental health issues that made me question if I should continue swimming at a collegiate level, but I took the chance and I am so happy I did. Being a part of the swimming team has been my favorite experience because my teammates have become my second family.

Why Psychology?

UMU has expanded my horizon on so many things, and it’s made me realize how many possibilities I have in store. I chose psychology because I love learning about people and what makes them who they are. Therefore, I advise prospective students to explore their options because in the end they have to feel good about where they will study their undergraduate career at.
