March 26, 2019

ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union is pleased to announce that Lindajean Heller Western is its new vice president for enrollment management, effective March 26, 2019.

Western comes to Mount Union from Hiram College, where she was vice president for enrollment for more than four years. Prior to that, she served for three years as vice president for marketing and enrollment for Western Governors University. At both institutions, Western led efforts that resulted in significant enrollment growth.

“I am happy to be home in Northeast Ohio, joining the legendary Purple Raiders and am honored to be chosen to serve with a community of faculty, staff and trustees so focused on delivering a high quality, student-focused education,” Western said.

Her 20-year career in higher education also included administrative roles at Kent State University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Northern Arizona University.

“Lindajean brings considerable senior-level experience in enrollment management to Mount Union with both traditional-age undergraduate students in a residential setting, and with graduate students and adult learners whose instruction is delivered face-to-face and online,” said Dick Merriman, president of Mount Union

A member of the United States Marine Corps on active duty for 15 years, Western earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from The Ohio State University in 1980 and a Master of Arts in organizational management from the University of Phoenix in 2000. Her career includes leadership positions that span the military, health care and higher education sectors.
