Mount Union Nursing Program Earns Ohio Board of Nursing Full Approval

June 14, 2022

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The University of Mount Union is pleased to announce that its Department of Nursing has been granted full approval by the Ohio Board of Nursing (OBN) for the next five years, effective May 25, 2022.

To earn this prestigious approval, Mount Union’s nursing program underwent a survey with members of the OBN who met with students, faculty and program administrators. The OBN also toured the University’s facilities, including labs and simulation rooms. They focused on ensuring the requirements of Chapter 4723-5, of the Ohio Administrative Code were met and maintained. The board found that all requirements were fulfilled.

“Receiving full approval from the Ohio Board of Nursing further validates that the students, faculty, and staff in the Department of Nursing are tremendous individuals and assets to the University and the Alliance Community,” said Dr. Tim Meyers, professor and chair of Mount Union’s Department of Nursing. “We continue to flourish in these unpresented times and it is a direct result of the family approach we have to making our future colleagues.”

Mount Union’s nursing program is also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and boasts a 98.3% program pass rate on the NCLEX-RN, which is the highest in the State of Ohio over the last five years.
