Continuing a Legacy
I am a 'legacy' child -- my grandpa graduated from Mount Union College in the 70's. I have been attending Saturday football games after breakfast in the cafe since I was a kid. When I revisited campus as a prospective student I knew it was the place for me. The people that I've met make Mount Union feel like home because they support me in every way possible.
Pursuing a Career in Education
I would like to teach first grade and coach girls lacrosse. UMU has given me so many networking opportunities that I have no doubt I will be able to get started in my own classroom as soon as I graduate. Education has ALWAYS been my deepest passion; I have known since I was a kid that I wanted to be a teacher. Mount Union's Education program has given me amazing opportunities where I can apply course concepts and continue growing into the teacher I want to be. These include the field experience that the School of Education offers to students. We get placed into a classroom as early as the Fall semester of our freshman year. I also love learning from extremely knowledgeable professors.
Impactful Faculty Members
Dr. Reash and Dr. Coblentz are two faculty members that have impacted my academic journey directly. Every single professor in the School of Education is absolutely amazing, but Dr. Reash and Dr. Coblentz have helped mold who I am and have been so supportive of my goals.
