The University of Mount Union's Data Camp is open to high school students entering 10th-12th grade. The vast majority of today's in-demand, well-paid, and challenging jobs require employees to be able to work with, and learn from, massive quantities of data. High school students interested in careers in science, math, engineering, technology, health, and/or business are invited to learn about these skills by participating in Mount Union's Data Camp.
The Data Camp is a two-day program, held on Mount Union's campus, that introduces participants to the field of data science and analytics through practical, hands-on case studies that address questions including:
- How can we create a compelling infographic that shows which professional athletes are dominant in their sport?
- How can a political campaign effectively tailor their marketing efforts to a diverse group of voters?
- How can we use a patient's medical history to predict their risk for developing certain conditions later in life?
Participants are able to choose from two camp options, running from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day:
