I preside over a manufacturing company headquartered in Louisville, OH. We are the number one manufacturer of residential central vacuums in the United States and we are a leading national supplier of fabricated tubular products for industrial applications.
Choosing Mount Union
I chose Mount Union because my high school graduating class was made up of 1,250 students and I wanted a smaller, more personalized experience. Mount Union's size allowed me to continue to pursue my interest in music and tennis, along with my academics.
Favorite Professor
My favorite professor was Hugh Pinney. His background in public accounting gave us real-life experiences that fueled my desire to become a CPA. His teachings also enabled me to get a job with Arthur Andersen immediately upon graduation.
Practical Preparation
I worked for Hill, Barth, and King my senior year of college. We didn't have internships then, but the experience was invaluable. I had to give up tennis that year, which was a very tough decision.
Mount Union Memory
My favorite memory is without a doubt, my first calculus class where I met Carol, my lovely wife of 36 years!
Campus Involvement
During my time on campus, I was treasurer of the fraternity Sigma Nu and a member of the band, brass choir, orchestra and the men’s tennis team.
Liberal Arts Foundation
Mount Union’s liberal arts foundation has provided me the skills to successfully transition into many different positions within H-P.
Staying Involved
Today, I keep actively involved with Mount Union by serving on the Board of Trustees, the Business Advisory Board and the BEST Program (Bringing Executives and Students Together).
Next Steps
My ultimate career goal was to become president of a company. Since achieving that, it is now to double the size of the company during my tenure.
