Finding a Career
In high school I was torn between being a teacher or a nurse. I made the choice to be a nurse and never regretted my decision. After practicing for 10 years, I made the decision to obtain my master’s in nursing education and now I am able to do both! If I had to pick a different career path, I think I would choose something in publishing, what could be better than getting paid to read.
Selecting Mount Union
I chose to start teaching at Mount Union because I felt like the direct entry nursing program really allows me to start students thinking like a nurse from the beginning of the program. This allows students to work with one another and encourage one another rather than compete for limited space within the program.
The Best Part
I enjoy watching the growth of students. The difference from freshman year to graduation is astounding. I often feel like a proud parent watching these new nurses go out into the world and make an impact.
