Why Mount Union?

My dad is an alumnus, and when he suggested that I visit the campus, I loved it! I wanted to attend a school that was small enough for me to build a one-on-one professor-to-student relationship, and the small class sizes that Mount offers allow me to do just that. Throughout my short time at Mount Union, I've formed friendships with people who have similar interests as me, and I am getting to know my brothers in Phi Kappa Tau with each interaction we have on campus.

Small Steps Towards Success

Taking into consideration that I come from the 4th smallest school in Ohio, North Bloomfield High School, which has about 100 students, and my class size had 16 students total, attaining time management skills has been the biggest obstacle I've had to overcome. As a student I was extremely busy as I was on the golf team my freshman year, founded the cross country team my sophomore year, competed in basketball all four years, and I also ran track my senior year just for fun, and I was also involved with founding our Esports team at our high school my junior year. Therefore, in college, I want to be as involved, but succeed academically as well.

Experiential Learning

My business classes have been very interactive so far. Dr. Michael Kachilla has become my favorite professor thanks to his teaching style, which happens to fit my learning style. I feel as though the concepts that I am learning about and skillset that I am building will prepare me to enter my desired career ready. Joining a Fraternity was something I never saw myself doing while in highschool but shortly after coming to Mount my opinion changed and now I am building lasting friendships with my brothers.
