Why Mount Union?

The community makes Mount Union feel like home. Being a part of an athletic team at Mount Union has helped me find lifelong friends and a second family, not to mention the support from all other sports teams around campus. Every Mount Union alumni I have met is proud to be a Purple Raider and support other Raiders with their careers and education.

Career Goals

I plan to attend a graduate program for Applied Behavior Analysis to pursue my goal of becoming a BCBA. Mount Union has prepared me for this career goal by providing opportunities such as internships and jobs. Through my Autism Studies minor, I had the opportunity to experience hands-on learning through an internship at a local school district where I got to experience working with children from the grades kindergarten to fourth who have been diagnosed with autism. I have been able to obtain a job working for a local behavioral clinic as an RBT, which I gained through the Registered Behavior Technician class provided by Dr. Turko. This job provides me with the experience/knowledge of utilizing ABA treatment for adolescents with autism which I will need to achieve my future career goal.

Advice to Prospective Students

When choosing a college/university look for a place that feels like home and allows you to grow as a person. Be sure to look at the alumni involvement because this helps you determine the type of community and support the university provides. At first, I didn't want to visit Mount Union because of how close to home it was, but after my visit, I knew it was the right choice for me.
