Biochemistry major

The coursework in the biochemistry program has enhanced my knowledge, but the research I've conducted has given me confidence to continue my path to becoming a pharmacist.

A Passion for Science

I chose biochemistry as my major since it was the best option to pick that would prepare me best for pharmacy school afterward. The coursework in the biochemistry program has enhanced my knowledge, but the research I've conducted has given me confidence to continue my path to becoming a pharmacist. In addition, I have my pharmacy technician license which I use to volunteer at University Hospitals. Here I help fill prescriptions and shadow pharmacists in the field.

Advice for Prospective Students

Pick somewhere where the distance matters - how close or far away you want to be from home. Pick the school that has majors of interest to you and be conscious of what you really want out of a college experience.

Experiential Learning Opportunities

I've been on the Social Responsibility trip and field trips with the Regula Scholars program. My favorite was definitely my time in the Dominican Republic for the Social Responsibility trip as it was such an eye-opening and rewarding experience. It taught me a lot of important values and pushed me outside of my comfort zone in a way I have never felt before.
