Becoming a Raider
I chose Mount Union because I was really impressed with the campus and I knew that being a smaller school, the faculty would have more time to create the best learning environment possible. Mount Union is my home away from home because I am constantly surrounded by love and support from my roommates, friends, classmates, Greek life, and faculty. I would tell any incoming freshman looking at colleges to see if you can picture yourself being happy and thriving at that school for your next four years. Any school as welcoming and encouraging as Mount can't be a bad choice.
Why Accounting?
I chose accounting as my major because I was exposed to accounting concepts in courses in my high school. My accounting teacher was the best I had in high school, she made the concepts easy and interesting to learn. I knew that coming to Mount, I would be taught in a very similar way. I haven't decided my goal career, but I know it is something in the accounting field. Mount Union is giving me the tools and resources that I will need to succeed in any career that I end up choosing after graduation. Public speaking has always been a difficult subject for me and with the Integrative Core program, the courses helped me learn skills to better prepare myself for public speaking in my future career.
