Experiential Learning Experiences

During my short time at Mount Union, I've taken part in the Social Responsibility course. We went to the Dominican Republic where we helped build houses and interacting with children- teaching them English. I love to travel and I enjoyed learning about the Dominican Republic’s history along with eating delicious food. Before this travel experience, I had only been to Canada, but I highly recommend that any student takes the course as it can change your perspective.

Ultimate Career Goal

I want to work in cybersecurity: doing penetration tests and whatnot in order to improve security systems. I am taking an intro course at the moment, and for our final, we are performing a large security breakdown of Mount Union itself! Though, I also want to use my Spanish skills as knowing a second language makes a person more marketable.

Why Mount Union?

I had never heard of Mount Union until my junior year of high school. I went on one of those "find your college" websites - the kind where you input your ideal location, size, etc. I toured it, along with four or five others, and I immediately fell in love with Mount Union. Not only was the campus absolutely gorgeous, but I quickly took notice of how close-knit the students were. My tour guide greeted many Mount students by name, and plenty of them responded back during the tour as we went by. I knew that that was the campus community I was looking for.
