ALUMNI WEEKEND, HOMECOMING, AND FAMILY DAY

We look forward to seeing alumni, friends, and family on campus for Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, and Family Day 2024! Check out the list of activities and events scheduled for this year which include a variety of reunions, celebrations, athletic events, Run-A-MUC, and so much more!

Be sure to check back as reunions and activities may be added!

Events denoted with an * are part of the Family Day portion of this year's event.

Events for Friday, October 11, 2024

  1. Reunions

    10:30 a.m., Encore ’74 Golf at the Alliance Country Club (725 E Milton St, Alliance, OH 44601).  $75 includes 18 holes, cart, sandwich and drink at the turn.

    5:30 p.m., Encore ’74 Reception, Chives (2355 S Union Ave, Alliance, OH 44601), Heavy appetizers provided; Cash bar available.


    6:30 p.m., Alpha Chi Omega Reunion Dinner, Courtney's Banquet Center (981 E State St, Alliance, OH 44601), Cost is $20 to attend, dinner is provided and there will be a cash bar. We are asking that sisters please RSVP here, and all guests are welcome.

  2. Athletic Reunions

    5 p.m., Softball Reunion, 23rd Street Softball Field
    Please join us for a Raider Alumni Softball Game during Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, and Family Day 2024! This year’s contest will feature one seven-inning slow-pitch game, Alumni vs. Alumni. Please RSVP to Coach Simons by Wednesday, October 2 to reserve your place!     6-9 p.m., Cross Country and Track Reunion, Aeonian Brewing Co., Celebrating the 1974 first Cross Country Championship and the 2014 first Track Championship; All cross country and track alumni athletes welcome! Appetizers provided; Cash bar available.

  1. Run-A-MUC*

    8 a.m., 41st Annual Run-A-MUC 5K, Peterson Field House
    Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m.

  2. Headquarters and Stations*

    9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Alumni Weekend Headquarters Tent, tent on the southeast corner of Kehres Stadium

    • Pick up a campus map and walking tour information
    • Update your contact information
    • Check the schedule of events by scanning the QR code
    • Purchase an Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, and Family Day t-shirt for $10

    9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Refreshment Tables, Hoover-Price Campus Center (HPCC) and McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (MAAC)

    All day, Raider Selfie Stations, Chapman Hall, the campus rock, and the Mount Union sign along Union Avenue

    11 a.m. - 1 p.m., M Club Information Tent, grass area by Gulling Training Center

  3. Brunch*

    10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Football Brunch, Kresge Dining Hall, Hoover-Price Campus Center (HPCC)
    Cost: Adults $11, Kids 6-11 $7, Kids 5 and under FREE

  4. MUcaw Fun Zone*

    11 a.m. - 1 p.m., MUcaw Fun Zone, Quad
    Bring the kids to the MUcaw Fun Zone for games, activities, an ice cream truck, balloon artist, face painting, and more! MUcaw will make an appearance sometime during the event.

  5. Celebrations

    Join us for a day of fun, food, and fellowship as we celebrate our Black Alumni and build lasting connections! 

    10 a.m.-noon, Grand Opening of The Raider Serenity Center, Dewald Chapel
    The Office of Counseling Services and Office of Spiritual Life invite you to the Grand Opening of The Raider Serenity Center. Come and check out a uniquely designed space that offers peace, calm, and serenity. Try out one of the automatic massage chairs. Take a moment to relax by engaging in drawing or art. Maybe try the VR headset and engage in relaxation exercises. Go to the counseling website for more information.  

    11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Black Alumni Tailgate, Wayne Manzilla Inclusion Center, food and refreshments provided.

    3-5 p.m. Black Alumni Day Party, Campus Grounds Patio, Join us for some delicious food, music, games, and networking!

    Hosted by Black Student Union, Brothers Building Bonds, and Sister Circle.

    Please join us for our first Annual Alumni Tennis Match during Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, and Family Day 2024! All Men’s and Women’s Tennis graduates are welcome to join. There will be Doubles and Singles play featuring alumni and current team members. A Team Cookout following the match. Alumni Award Recipients 

DODIE DAVIS ALUMNI SERVICE AWARD

The Alumni Service Award was established in 1942 and is presented in recognition of outstanding achievement in a chosen profession or field and for service to the University or community. The award represents the highest non-academic honor an alumnus/alumna can receive from Mount Union. In 2003, the award was renamed in honor of Dodie Davis ’62 for her 35 years of service and dedication to the institution.

McKINLEY FELLOW AWARD

The McKinley Fellow Award is named for former U.S. President William McKinley, who was a member of the Mount Union Board of Trustees and worked as a friend of the University for many years. This award honors a select group of individuals who have had a significant impact on Mount Union as non-alumni.

YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD

The Young Alumni Award honors and recognizes those who, at very early stages in their chosen careers or callings, exemplify what Mount Union hopes all alumni will strive to achieve upon graduating from Mount Union. The award is given to graduates within the past 15 years of their outstanding support, leadership, and dedication to the University as young alumni.
