Clinical Float Nurse

My twin brother, Josh, and I graduated together in 2018! It was a very cool experience to go through nursing school with him and to share these life experiences.

Education

BSN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Hometown

Ravenna, Ohio

Eminent Hands-On Skillset

Learning skills in lecutres and labs are nessessary, but being able to apply them to real-life situations and scenarios solidify the education nursing students receive at UMU. The clinical sites and instructors at Mount Union are the best and helped to foster great clinical experiences and opportunities! Having the clinical experience in my background allowed me to begin my career with confidence. Interacting with patients and their families, performing skills, and working as a team were all things Mount Union prepared me for.

Choosing Mount Union

The location was close enough that I could commute or live on campus. The facilities at Mount were top notch to provide an excellent learning experience. Most of all, the professors and instructors cared about the success of their students, which made my experience even more meaningful. It was clear that Mount Union as a community cares about the success and future of each and every student!

Why Nursing?

I chose nursing because of the small class sizes, facilities, and wonderful faculty. All of these aspects helped to promote a better learning environment that I am sure I could not have received at another university. The faculty were wonderful during my academic career and have been great mentors after graduation! Nursing is a field of constant learning, and it opens many doors for students to continue gaining practice and advancing their career! I am currently a graduate student at Kent State pursuing my MSN to be a nurse practitioner, something I would not have been able to do without the excellent foundation Mount Union provided me!
