Choosing Mechanical Engineering

I would like to work for a company that works alongside the U.S. military such as Lockheed Martian or Raytheon. Although I chose mechanical engineering as my major because my uncle is a mechanical engineer and seeing his work inspired me to want to become one as well. Summer 2024 I held an internship with Hammond Construction working alongside project managers, engineers, and superintendent. The coolest part about this internship was seeing how fast these buildings really get built, because from the outside looking in it seems like it takes such a long time, but when you are on site everything moves so much faster than you would expect.

Impactful Faculty Member

Dr. Chad Korach has had such a huge impact on my time here at Mount. As a senior in high school, he took time to reach out to me personally and set up a call with him to talk about my dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer. Ever since then he has helped me accomplish every goal to reach the point where I am at today. He has also gone above and beyond to help me whenever I have needed anything non-academic.

Attending Mount Union

A couple of friends from high school committed to Mount for sports and gave me the track coach's contact information so I reached out and planned a visit. When I first stepped on campus, I felt like I was at home and could see myself spending the next 4 years as a Raider. The people part of the Mount Union community make it such a welcoming environment and make you feel as if you are truly cared for by faculty and staff.
