I teach courses in writing and rhetoric studies, do curriculum development, and write about rhetorics of space and place, with a focus on urban planning documentation. I love seeing my students develop over the course of the semester and watching their confidence in their own writing grow.
Why Mount Union
I chose Mount Union because it seemed like a close-knit community and a quality education. It was away from home, but close enough that I could get home quickly. Really the big selling point, though, was meeting Rodney Dick at a prospective students event and being handed a copy of the Calliope. I love Mount Union because of the amazing people there and the solid academic foundation that it provided me, which enabled me to launch a career in academia.
Preparing for Your Career
Working for the Calliope and the Writing Center helped prepare me by teaching me about publishing, organizational leadership, academic conferences, and writing pedagogy.
Career Goals
At the moment, my goals are to publish a book and attain tenure.
