Additionally, I connected with other Spanish-speaking people in Alliance, such as the owners of Jalisco’s restaurant, which helped me stay in touch with my Hispanic roots. We shared a passion for soccer and we used to play every week in an indoor league.

Impacting the Hispanic Community
I have made a significant impact on my community, particularly during my time in Chicago. I emphasized the importance of higher education to my peers and coworkers, highlighting not just the better job prospects, but also the structure and tools it provides for thinking differently and outside the box. One of my Mexican coworkers was inspired by my insights and decided to pursue a college education as a result.
