Ultimate Career Goal

I love helping children and watching them grow. My interest in special education and helping those in need led me to choose my major. My ultimate career goal is to become a director or special education at a district. As I know this will come many years after I am in the classroom, I know Mount Union is preparing me by giving me hands on experience within my major and classes.

Overcoming Obstacles in College

I have had to overcome a lot of physical and mental health issues as well as deaths in the family throughout my high school and college career. These events and issues have pushed me to give my all even when I wasn’t feeling myself. The support I've received has helped to face any challenge or obstacle with resilience.

Gaining Real-World Experience

I have had many opportunities through field experiences and field trips through required courses. Such experiences include attending events on behalf of Dr. Turko and the Spectrum Education Center. My favorite has been attending different ABA programs around the county to advertise our Courage 2 Communicate program. Mount Union really helps students achieve their goals with all the academic and extracurricular opportunities they offer.
