Continuing Focus on Sustainability, Mount Union Again Earns Princeton Review Green College Status

October 23, 2024

NEW YORK — The University of Mount Union is proud to once again be named to The Princeton Review’s annual Guide to Green Colleges for 2025.

Mount Union is one of 511 institutions across the world to receive this recognition. According to The Princeton Review, the selection methodology stems from 25 data points that tally a Green Rating for each college and university. Only institutions with a Green Rating higher than 80 on a 100-point scale are chosen for the guide.

“Since we created our Green Guide in 2010, we have also seen dramatic growth in the number of colleges committing to sustainability practices—from sourcing food locally and constructing LEED-certified buildings to making commitments to becoming fossil fuel-free,” said Rob Franek, editor-in-chief at The Princeton Review in a press release. “We are proud to shine our light on these exceptional schools and to recommend them to students who want their ‘best-fit’ college to also be a green one.”

Mount Union was one of only 13 institutions in Ohio to receive this honor and has been on part of the guide several times since 2010, including each of the past three years.
