ALLIANCE, OH — The University of Mount Union is pleased to announce Dr. Stephen Craig, director of digital learning and design, has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 QM Ohio Outstanding Impact by an Individual Award by Quality Matters (QM).

Craig provides strategic leadership in online program development and operations. In this role, he oversees the development, implementation, and assessment of online courses and programs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and comply with federal, state, and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation requirements. As the central coordinator for all online course initiatives at Mount Union, Craig manages the course development team while also serving as an instructor in the online Master of Education program.

The QM Ohio Consortium is a collaborative network of more than 55 Ohio higher education institutions dedicated to advancing excellence in online learning. The consortium supports its member institutions through professional development, active dialogue and shared resources, working together to enhance student success in online education. 

The QM Ohio Outstanding Impact by an Individual Award recognizes educational leaders who have made significant contributions to advancing quality assurance in digital education within the Ohio Consortium. Recipients are selected based on their demonstrated commitment to implementing QM standards and their positive impact on online learning excellence at their institutions.

His extensive background and understanding of the fast-paced and ever-evolving digital learning space have allowed him to create opportunities for Mount Union students that didn’t exist less than a decade ago,” said Dr. Bryan Boatright, associate vice president for academic affairs and dean of graduate, digital, and continued learning at the University of Mount Union. “Stephen has helped shape a cultural change at Mount Union that will be recognized for decades.
