Jones ’19, Whyte ‘19 Named Mount Union’s 2019 Outstanding Seniors
May 01, 2019ALLIANCE, Ohio — The University of Mount Union is proud to announce that Liz Jones ’19, a human development and family science and Spanish double major of Medina, Ohio, and Spencer Whyte ’19, a history and political science double major of Broadview Heights, Ohio, have been named its 2019 Outstanding Senior Woman and Man.
Jones has been on the Dean’s List all seven semesters and is a member of the Honors Program, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Mu Gamma, Black Student Union, Good Vibes Only, HOLA, Kappa Delta Pi, M Club, Residence Life Staff, the Student Alumni Association, Student National Educators Association, Student Senate and Study Abroad. She has held leadership positions in Alpha Phi Omega and Raider Programming Board.
Other nominees for Outstanding Senior Woman included Briana Boehlke ’19, a history major of Uniontown, Ohio, Leah Custer ’19, a nursing major of Lancaster, Ohio, Jessica Kulas ’19, a psychology major of Willoughby, Ohio and Abigail Matsushima ’19, an exercise science major of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
Whyte has also been on the Dean’s List all seven semesters and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, the Honors Program, Model UN, Newman Civic Fellows, Order of Omega, Pre-Law Society, Committee on Campus Life, Committee on Cross-Curricular Development, Integrative Core Committee, AQIP and Curriculum Committee. He has held leadership positions in Greek Member Academy, Phi Kappa Tau, Pi Sigma Alpha, Sigma Iota Rho and was President of Student Senate.
Other nominees for Outstanding Senior Man included William Clay ’19, a chemistry major of Westlake, Ohio, Tyler Finkenthal ’19, an exercise science major of Aurora, Ohio, Jason Hadley ’19, a nursing major of Napoleon, Ohio and Louis Marich ’19, a psychology major of Seven Hills, Ohio.
The awards were presented at Mount Union’s annual Senior Recognition and Honors Convocation in April 30.
