Sowers ’11 M’17 Named North Canton Schools Faculty Member of the Month
University of Mount Union alumnus Taylor Sowers ’11 M’17, was recently named the faculty member of the month from the North Canton City School District for January.
Natural Science Students, Faculty Present Research at Ohio Natural History Conference
The Ohio Biological Survey’s annual Ohio Natural History Conference was held virtually in February and featured research from four Mount Union natural science students who participated in hands-on research with faculty.

Dr. Anne Christo-Baker, professor and director of the University of Mount Union's School of Business, led a business etiquette luncheon for students from Akron North High School, Mount Union's sister school. the event featured a presentation and networking tips with other Mount Union faculty and business students. The event was sponsored by the University's student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Mount Union Exercise Science Students Conduct Research Alongside Faculty
Nick Dye ’22, of Massillon, Ohio, Rachel Hawk ‘22, of Medina, Ohio, and Hayley Maher ‘22, of Greenville, Ohio are undergraduate students at the University of Mount Union who study in the Department of Exercise, Sport and Nutrition Sciences. They serve as Dr. Lonnie Lowery’s faculty research assistants and are involved in multiple research projects related to coffee consumption and health, one of which they are hoping to present at the International Society of Sports Nutrition conference this summer.
Brumbaugh Scholar Students Participate in Hands-on Naturalist Research with Faculty
The University of Mount Union’s Brumbaugh Scholars Program has given students the opportunity to work with a faculty mentor for hands-on research at the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center. Selected students were expected to commit at least eight weeks to their research and collaboration with their mentor.
