Studying abroad is immensely popular, and Mount Union is very encouraging to do so. However, it is also very welcoming to international and exchange students wanting to study abroad in the U.S.

Geology Alumna Mentzer ’18 Earns NSF Graduate Research Fellowship
University of Mount Union alumna Carlie Mentzer ’18, of London, Ohio, was recently awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship as she pursues a Ph.D. in geosciences from the University of Rochester in New York.
Mount Union Welcomes Class of 2024, Returning Students Back to Campus
The incoming first-year class is typically greeted through the signing of the Matriculation Book during the annual Matriculation Convocation. Yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this event, like many other public events typically held on campus, have been canceled for the fall. Thus, students will hear remarks from new Mount Union President Dr. Thomas Botzman and sign the Book in their respective first-year seminar courses.
Mount Union Computer Science Professor Earns $5,000 Award to Develop Curriculum on Accessibility
Dr. Sarah J. Huibregtse, assistant professor of computer science at the University of Mount Union, was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from Teach Access to develop a curriculum at Mount Union focused on educating students on accessible web design.
Biology Professor McElhinney Selected for Million-Dollar Women in STEM Project
Dr. Amy McElhinney, associate professor and chair of the Department of Biology at the University of Mount Union, was selected to participate in the National Science Foundation’s Advancing STEM Careers by Empowering Network Development (ASCEND) project from an esteemed national pool of candidates.
