Advice to Prospective Students

My advice would be to never downlook smaller and local colleges and universities. Sure, attending a more well-known university may have its benefits, but you risk losing out on a crucial sense of community and recognition that comes with a smaller, more localized student body. There's nothing wrong with going against the grain and wanting to attend somewhere "no one has heard of," you should always prioritize your desires in your academic experience rather than doing something to please others!

Why Art?

I have been drawing seriously for around 8 years now, but even before then I always enjoyed being creative. When thinking about my future, I could not imagine leaving my love of art behind, so I decided to pursue it academically to become a graphic designer! Mount Union not only offers courses focused on graphic design, but it has given me opportunities where I can exhibit my art work. I've been able to participate in the annual student art exhibit and Art Fest.

Being a Legacy Student

As a legacy student, I first learned about Mount Union through my mother and uncle. Growing up, I heard nothing but praise for the university, and, seeing how accomplished both of them are thanks to the skills they acquired while attending, I have wanted to follow in their footsteps and attend Mount Union. After decades of daydreaming as we drove past the campus grounds on our weekly grocery runs to Alliance, I was thrilled to receive the letter that I had been accepted into my dream school.
