Selecting UMU
I knew I never wanted to go to a big school. Considering I am from Columbus, people were surprised Ohio State wasn’t a school I was interested in. Originally, the Mount Union tennis coach had reached out to me as a recruit and offered to take me on a tour of the campus. I knew I wanted a small, pretty, and safe campus. When I came to Mount Union, I discovered it was all that and more. In addition, I was thankful to receive the Trustee Scholarship, UMU Award, and UMU Grant. My support systems such as my friends, sorority sisters, and how supportive my professors are making it feel like a second home.
Finding a Path
I came into school not knowing what I wanted to do, but that I liked to create things. As I go through the curriculum for the integrated media major, I knew it was what I wanted to do. There are so many different paths and opportunities with this major. With me being indecisive I am, that is perfect for me. I know that I want to be able to create things for marketing purposes, whether that be designs, websites, social media posts, etc. Mount Union has already given me the skills and practice with creating things, and it is only my sophomore year. I have learned design elements and acquired a love for coding, which I would have never thought I would get into.
Opportunities and Experiences
I currently work as a student worker in the marketing office at Mount Union. I am learning new marketing techniques or design elements daily. Without Mount Union, I would not have had this opportunity to work hands on with different creative elements.
