Mount Union BSN Program Tops Nursing Schools Almanac Rankings for Third Time

June 11, 2024

ALLIANCE — For the third time, the University of Mount Union’s direct-entry Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program was recently ranked as the best prelicensure BSN program in Ohio in Nursing Schools Almanac’s 2024 rankings. Mount Union also claimed the top spot in 2021 and 2022.

Mount Union’s prelicensure BSN program was ranked first out of 45 institutions in Ohio for 2024. Its 98.4% first-time pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) was nearly four points higher than the second-place institution.

For its methodology, Nursing Schools Almanac’s website states it analyzed, “…an extensive database of student performance on the NCLEX-RN.” The affiliate then used that database to calculate each program’s pass rate among first-time test-takers.

“Earning recognitions from outlets like Nursing Schools Almanac is a testament to the dedication of our caring faculty and incredible students,” said Dr. Betty Allen, associate professor and chair of Mount Union’s Department of Nursing. “We are grateful to be a leading institution preparing the next generation of successful nurses.”

Mount Union’s Department of Nursing offers a diverse array of programming for nurses of all levels, including an accelerated second-degree BSN, a 36-month fast-track pathway, a master of science in nursing in family nurse practitioner and an emergency nurse practitioner certificate.
